Community Event Held At Ludlow Football Stadium

"I'm very proud of them, they were very committed.

"We knew it would be a well-organised event and that the kids would love it whether they win or not.

"It will be really exciting to take the children to the Greenhous Meadow on April 1."


Natasha Pryce, teacher for winners Ludlow Juniors A, said:

Ludlow Juniors A will receive a tour of Greenhous Meadow and be flag bearers as part of Shrewsbuy Town in the Community's community takeover day for the Sky Bet League 1 clash at home to Wigan Athletic on 2 April.

Ludlow Juniors A, a mix of years five and six, then won all three games in the final Group 1 matches to emerge victorious in the tournament.

The winners of each group (Wigmore - Group 1) (Ludlow Junior A - Group 2) (St Laurence - Group 3) progressed into the Group 1 final with Clee Hill also qualifying for the top group as the best group runners-up.

The schools which competed included:

The event, which included 12 teams from ten schools across South Shropshire and North Herefordshire, saw each side compete in a groups of four on the 3G pitch, with there being three groups.

Ludlow Juniors A were victorious at Shrewsbury Town in the Community's Key Stage 2 South Shropshire football tournament at Ludlow Football Stadium on Wednesday.
