Midfielder Delighted To Play 30 Minutes
"Skitty has kept me going because it was tough the first few months after I did it again and he helped me out," he said.“As always the rehab has been perfect.
"It’s tough but the six months have flown by and that’s testament to what Skitty does - he makes it interesting every day.
"So you don’t get bored and it’s helped it happening during the season so the boys have been around.
"It hasn’t actually been that bad and I’m excited to get playing again."
Wesolowski paid tribute to everyone who has helped him through the injury period - none more so though first-team physio Chris Skitt.
"There are a couple of reserve games coming up over the next couple of weeks, so in the next one against Port Vale I’ll be looking to get 60 minutes and then the one after that Bradford away I’ll be looking to push for the 90," he said.
"Once I get to that point I’ll be looking for first-team selection, so I’m only a couple of weeks away from that so it’s exciting."
Wesolowski is ahead of schedule in his recovery and admits it is possible he could be in contention for first-team selection sooner than planned.
"The knee felt good and it felt good to be back playing again," said Wesolowski.
"There’s only so much training you can do until you have that urge to play football again on a proper scale and it felt good.
“Thirty minutes is what we planned for and it all went well.
"Before the game you get those nerves because you don’t know exactly how it’s going to be, but once you get back into the rhythm, you start to forget about the injury and play football.
"There were a few incidents and a few clashes but it felt fine, so it gives you that little boost ready to go for the next game.
"It was a tiny bit stiff after the game, but that’s expected and hopefully that will go away over the next couple of days and the leg will become stronger."
And Wesolowski felt everything went to plan as he continues to work his way back from the long injury lay-off.
The 28-year-old, who has not played in a Town match since September 2015 after suffering an ACL injury, got back onto the pitch for match action in the West Division clash at Shrewsbury Sports Village.
