Leutwiler On Walsall Clash

1 December 2015

Goalkeeper Says The Fans Will Spur On Town

"To be honest I did not know of him because he went to Walsall before I came to Shrewsbury," said Leutwiler.

"I respect that he has scored a lot of goals and we have to deal with that.

"But there are 11 players so we need to take care of everyone, we can’t just focus on one player.

"We have to play our game, we are at home, we have to be dominant and try and win the game."

But the goalkeeper insists the focus won’t solely be on the Saddlers’ top scorer.

Leutwiler will have the task of keeping out a former Town striker in Tom Bradshaw.
"It will be a really hard game, but we will go the same way that we have in the last few games and try and get the maximum points," he said.

"A derby is always special, I think there is an extra pressure, and I think the fans want us to win it maybe more than other teams!

"It’s just more motivation for us."

And Leutwiler says the Shrews will try to keep up their recent performances.

Town take on the Saddlers, who are sat 4th in Sky Bet League One, in Sky Bet League 1 at Greenhous Meadow on Tuesday night (7.45pm kick off).

Goalkeeper Jayson Leutwiler says Shrewsbury Town will be spurred on by the fans when they take on Walsall.
