Defender Says Town Will Be Up For Battle
- Ellis expecting difficult game against Stevenage
- Defender insists Town must be patient
- Shrews suffered 1-0 defeat in reverse fixture

“Obviously Connor will come in and learn while Keith will come in and give good experience and put his opinion across to the lads."
And Ellis also had some words for loan signings Keith Southern and Connor Randall, who joined Town from Fleetwood Town and Liverpool respectively.
“It would be nice if I played in all the games but I have not.
“But I am glad to be back in the team now and getting a good run of games and hopefully I will be able to keep this spot until the end of the season." He said:
Ellis' versatility and physical prowess in the backline has been a real asset to Micky Mellon since the defender arrived last summer, but the 26-year-old did concede he would like to be playing more games.
“It is brilliant, it’s a credit to all the lads. It’s a team game and the work rate of everyone has been phenomenal, so as along as we keep scoring goals we will feel we can win games.
“But we know teams will come here and sit back and defend. It may take until later in the second half for us to open them up so its going to be difficult for us but we will continue to work hard.
“When the first goal does go in you get a massive boost and then you just want to go on and score more goals."
He said:
And Ellis is hopeful Shrewsbury can continue to build on their outstanding clean sheet record which has seen Town pick up 18 clean sheets already this season, but did concede at home especially the team would have to be patient going forward.
“As long as we stay focused and keep winning our home games and picking up points away from home, we will be in with a chance," said Ellis.
“It is not going to be easy for us but we will go with a game plan and try and win the game.
“I think we were unlucky down there at the Lamex stadium. We had some chances and then they got a lucky goal but you know we want to make a point and beat them tomorrow."
But Ellis says league positions won’t affect Town’s players, who will be soley focused at the job in hand.
Graham Westley’s side come to the Greenhous Meadow at the weekend (3pm kick-off) in good spirits after moving up into the Sky Bet League 2 play-off positions following six games unbeaten over the festive period and into January.
