Defender Scored Against Rovers On His Debut

"We have opened up a little gap at the moment and we want to make that bigger.
"I haven’t had a winner’s medal before so I would love to get one in my first season in league football.
"There’s a lot of hard work gone into this season and hopefully we can stay top for the rest of it."
And the former Kidderminster man hopes to achieve his ultimate aim of promotion this season and his first league winner's medal.
"We have a great little unit," he said.
"We work hard together as a defence. We all understand that if we can stop teams scoring we have a good chance of winning the game with the quality strikers we have here.
"We have 20 clean sheets in all competitions which is amongst the most clean sheets in any club in Europe so far this season, but we are not finished yet.
"I would like to get another 10 clean sheets in the 15 games left.
"It helps when you have a fantastic goalkeeper like Jayson (Leutwiler) behind you.
"When the defence has been beaten he has saved us on many occasions.
"He was fantastic against Carlisle with the amount of saves he managed to pull out of the bag.
"He’s also good at giving instructions to the defence. Whe needs to say something he says it."
And Demetriou believes it has come down to the hard work of the team as a unit.
Town have kept a staggering 20 clean sheets in all competitions this season.
"I scored on my debut for Shrewsbury against Tranmere earlier in the season, so I am looking forward to playing them again and I am hopeful of getting three points," said Demetriou.
"Last time out (away from home), against Carlisle, I equalised in the 93rd minute before Collins scored the winner in the 95th, so I am hoping we won’t leave it as late to get the win this time!
"It would be nice to wrap the game up earlier but the most important thing is to win.
"We won’t be taking them lightly, especially not after how well Carlisle played against us.
"We have watched a few videos of Tranmere this week so we know what to expect."
But the defender wants Micky Mellon's side to be in a winning position before they head into injury time on Saturday.
Demetriou, who signed from Non-League side Kidderminster Harriers last summer, grabbed the winner as Town came from behind in injury time in their first home league fixture of the season.
