Manager Excited To Face Premier League Side
"We have to concentrate on ourselves," he said."We will definitely go there full of respect for Palace but we have shown in the past we can go there and cause problems.
"We have to try and keep that in mind and have a plan for what we are going to do without the ball.
"It’s the next game so it has now become the most important one for us. We know we are taking fans down there and we always want to represent the club properly.
"We want to give a good account of ourselves and keep building back up the Club’s profile in the country. This is another chance to do that.
"We will be going down there to try and get a result, to win the game."
Micky insists Town will respect their Premier League opponents on the night but will be focusing on their own performane.
"We love the cup," said Micky.
"We get excited about it, it is a good game and a good end to the season.
"It’s an opportunity to go and play against one of the best teams in the country. You have to enjoy it."
And Micky admits he and his side enjoy playing in the League Cup.
The Shrews also knocked out Championship side Blackburn Rovers in the first round of the competition this season.
Town have good pedigree in the Capital One Cup having beaten Blackpool, Norwich City and Leicester City in the competition last season before giving last season's Premier League champions Chelsea a run for their money.
"It’s always fantastic to go up against teams from the best league in the country," he said.
"It’s terrific to measure yourselves against them, go to the big stadiums and see how your team performs against the big clubs.
"It’s very exciting for us and I am really enjoying going there and see how far we have come.
"It’s going to be a tough examination of us as a team but we are looking forward to it."
And Micky believes the game represents the opportunity for his side to pit their wits against one of the best teams in the country.
The Eagles finished tenth in the top flight of English football last season, although Shrewsbury have beaten higher-division teams in the League Cup in the past.
Town travel to Selhurst Park to face the Premier League side in Round 2 of the competition (7.45pm kick-off).
