Manager Dedicates Victory To Family Of Supporter
- Micky says win over Dagenham was for Nick Mann
- Two Connor Goldson headers gave Town all three points
- Manager now focused on Easter Monday trip to Mansfield
Two first-half headers from defender Connor Goldson ensured Town picked up all three points in the Sky Bet League 2 clash at the Greenhous Meadow - and closed the gap on leaders Burton Albion to a point.
And Micky tributed the victory to the family of Nick, with there being a minute's applause in tribute to Nick in the 35th minute of the match.
"From the players and myself I think we'd like to tribute that victory to the Mann family," said Micky.
"Our thoughts are with his family now and our prayers are with his brother and that he pulls through.
"The fans quite rightly say that he's one of our own. We're now supporting them as much as we can and the way that Nick and his brother supported us.
"I thought the fans were brilliant. They stuck with us and they deserve so much credit.
"It's a terrific win at this time of the season. I'm delighted to get the three points and, like I say all of the time, we'll get the players recovered and move on to the next game now.
"I didn't think that we started well. I didn't think that we were pressing hard enough in most of the first half.
"We had a chat at half-time and up that tempo a little bit and to be fair they responded.
"We're delighted just to keep picking up points."
Goldson, making his 100th league appearance for the club, climbed highest to head home from two Liam Lawrence set-pieces in the first half, and the goals were enough to seal all three points.
Micky said: "They were two terrific headers so I'm absolutely delighted for him.
"We all know that he's well capable of that so we were delighted to see those chances go in.
"Their keeper has had to make an awful lot of saves. We've not had that many chances in a first half for a long time.
"There were four or five really good saves from the Dagenham goalkeeper."
Youngster Josh Ginnelly also came on as a late substitute for his third league appearance for the club.
Micky said: "He (Josh) deserves his go. It wasn't a change that we made for sentimental reasons.
"We believe that he's a very good player and a part of the squad we have moving forward."
