But for Micky, the opportunity to see some of his fringe players get some action was one positive to take from the defeat, especially with the performance of debutant Ian Black and a superb individual goal from Junior Brown.

“I think when you give away a goal it certainly gives Fleetwood a lift because of the manner in which we gave it away and gave them that little lift more than us. We did have one or two more chances from then which we’re disappointed we n ever made more of but that goal was the turning point.”

And Micky, who was returning to the club he managed from 2008-2012, felt his side needed to capitalise on their first-half opportunities.
