Micky On Sign And Dine Evening

22 July 2015

Manager Enjoyed Second Instalment On Monday

Micky Mellon swapped the pressure of the dugout to the pressure in the kitchen as he and his coaches dished up dinner for some hungry Salop supporters.

The Town boss was aided by first-team coaches Mike Jackson and Danny Coyne in plating up a two-course meal for diners which consisted of a stilton and bacon tartlet with a pesto and red onion marmalade sauce to start with before serving a butter roasted chicken with crushed potatoes, fresh greens and a mushroom cream sauce.

But it was out of the kitchen where the real grilling was done as Micky and his staff entertained questions from the Town supporters, something Micky enjoys doing.

“I really enjoyed it,” said Micky.

“It’s always great to get in and amongst the fans and every opportunity that we can we make sure we do.

“There were some fantastic questions as usual but it was also great to be able to have a bit of fun and help prepare the meals for them because football is all about having good relationships and we certainly have a good relationship with our fans.”

“What was nice was that there were so many familiar faces that we’ve got to know over the 14/15 months that I’ve been here so that was really nice.

“I really enjoy it and it’s good to come and see the fans.”
