Manager Speaks About Rowley And Ginnelly

"Shaun has indicated he wants to sign his contract so I think that’s going to happen,” said Micky.

"He’s still pure potential at the moment but Danny Coyne (goalkeeping coach) is going to keep moving him towards that first team."

"(Josh) is still on holiday but I’ve spoken to him and I’ll continue to speak to him.

"I hope to have some news on that because he will move us forward and there’s a place here for him.

"He’s assured me he’ll have a conversation with me about it when he gets back from his holiday.

"I would hope that will be by a week today when the players come back for pre-season because it’s starting to accelerate now and players and clubs tend to want things sorted.

"It’s a week that goes very quickly - it’s like everything’s ‘microwaved’, it’s decision time and doors start to get shut off.

"But for him, it’s all about the boy being happy - I’m cool and calm about him assessing his options, because if he chooses Shrewsbury after having a look around, then this is the place for him to keep improving and he’ll be 100 per cent committed to us."

Micky will hold talks with attacking midfielder Ginnelly in the near future and is confident that goalkeeper Rowley will put pen to paper very soon.

Both players, who were second-year scholars in Town's youth setup last season, have been offered professional contracts by the Club but have not yet signed.

Manager Micky Mellon has provided the Shrewsbury Town Club website with an update on the futures of Shaun Rowley and Josh Ginnelly.
