Manager Insists Town Will Not Be Overawed

"As always [when there’s a big game] the physio becomes unemployed because nobody needs him!" said Micky.
"That’s what you expect and that’s what usually happens because it’s an exciting time for the club.
"Jack Grimmer will be fit and Larnell Cole have trained and there’s a few that were in the development squad on Tuesday to build towards the weekend.
"All or most will be available for selection [against Manchester United] other than the cup-tied lads or long-term injuries."
Town’s injury problems are also clearing up, something that hasn’t come as a surprise to Micky.
"I’ve said if you don’t get excited about this then please move aside and give someone else a go because this is what football’s all about," said Micky.
"We’ve had this place rocking before and it will be great to go and see it again.
"I’m very fortunate to have seen it a couple of times now and to be able to see it again is something I can look forward to.
"I know what it’s like when the people at Shrewsbury roar and know what the stadium is like and the atmosphere it creates."
And Micky admits it's important for everyone around the Club to be excited about the clash with Louis van Gaal's side.
Focus only turned towards the Manchester United game after Saturday's 3-2 win at Blackpool in Sky Bet League 1.
"We will give it our best go and we won’t be overawed,” he said.
"We will make sure that we thoroughly enjoy the game and take it all in and give the best account of ourselves that we possibly can to represent this great football town.
"We’ve got to do certain things in a certain way to increase our chances of getting a result, so that’s what we’re working on and the mentality we’re approaching the game with.
"We’ll incorporate that into the game-plan so that the players know why we’re doing what we’re doing and hopefully it gives us a good opportunity of getting the result."
And Micky believes his players will not be intimidated as they look to get a result against the Premier League side.
The 11-time winners of the world's oldest trophy travel to Greenhous Meadow for the Fifth Round Proper clash (7.45pm kick-off) with a place in the quarter-finals up for grabs.
