Micky And Mark Visit The Grange School

23 January 2015

Manager And Goalkeeper Quizzed By The Pupils

"It was brilliant.

“The club approached us last week and we could have selected the entire school to take part – that was how much interest we had we had from pupils.

“We whittled it down to ten students and there has been a real buzz around the school ever since, especially as it’s the second time the manager has been here this season.

“It’s great for the kids. It really motivates them and helps raise their self-esteem.

“And they did fantastically well. They did their research and lot of thinking about the questions they wanted to ask. And they pitched them really well."
Kris Dobson, head of PE at the Grange School, said:

“It’s important to get out into the community and do things like this because they’re the fans. I enjoyed it and it was good fun.

“It was very professional and the kids deserve a lot of credit because I thought they were really brilliant.”

“This is the second time I have been here this season, it’s fantastic to see the kids and I really thought the questions they asked were fantastic," said Micky.

They also got to spend time and play basketball with both Micky and Halstead.

Youngsters from the secondary school were invited by Shrewsbury Town Community Sports Trust to host the manager's pre-match press conference at the school.

Shrewsbury Town manager Micky Mellon and goalkeeper Mark Halstead visited Shrewsbury's Grange School on Thursday afternoon to answer questions from the pupils.
