Micky Mellon On Wycombe Wanderers Clash

12 March 2015

Manager Relishing Clash With The Chairboys

"This time of the season is always exciting, it's going to be like that for the rest of the season," said Micky.

"It’s the stage in the season where crazy things happen and we have to embrace it."

And Micky also revealed there was still business being done behind the scenes to try and bolster his squad going into the closing stages of the season.

"Both of them have trained and are getting better every day," said Micky.

"They trained on Tuesday as well and they have made a big improvement today.

"We will look at them again tomorrow and see how they are, then we will try to pick a team that we think can go down there and represent the people of Shrewsbury and the Football Club well."

Micky has had positive news on the condition of both Andy Mangan and Liam Lawrence as they continue to recover from their respective injuries.
"These are the games you want to be involved in and want to win," said Micky.

"These are the games you train and prepare towards and I am really looking forward to it and, as I always say, we will go down there and look for opportunities to try and win the football match.

“We are well capable of getting a result so I am fairly positive."

And despite the size of the challenge at the weekend, Micky is targeting all three points .

Town sit second in Sky Bet League 2, two points off leaders Burton Albion, while the Chairboys are just one place and one point behind Shrews going into the clash at Adams Park (3pm kick-off).

Manager Micky Mellon wants Shrewsbury Town to move on quickly from last weekend’s disappointment going into this Saturday’s clash against Wycombe Wanderers.
