Midfielder Glad To Be Back Among The Action
“I had some good times there (at Oldham),” said the midfielder.“There's something about teams that you've played for before that you really want to beat them.
"With Oldham it's more a case of showing them where you've come to.
"I'm looking forward to it and I'm just excited to play football.
"I don't think it matters what type of game it is or who it's against, I just want to be out on the pitch playing in competitive matches.”
Although he admits it does not matter who the opposition is – as long as he is playing football.
Wesolowski spent three seasons at Boundary Park with the Latics before moving to Town in the summer of 2014.
"It's worked out pretty well,” said Wesolowski.
“I had the reserves game (against Wigan) and then the 30 minutes against Palace and have been involved with the lads in the last two league games.
"Now the time has come that I'm ready to start a game and if I start (against Oldham) it's going to be exciting and I'm really looking forward to it, especially against my old club as well.
"Me and Natty (Knight-Percival) have been pretty lucky, we've have had a lot of clubs that just throw you straight back in and you wouldn't have that time to work your way back into the fold which, with an injury like this, is something which mentally and also physically you probably need.
"You can't just jump straight back in, you've got to let the body get used to the physicality of being back out on the pitch and get used to the tempo of football again.”
And the Australian is glad just to be back playing football again.
Wesolowski came on as a substitute in the Capital One Cup tie at Crystal Palace a week ago for his first competitive game following a long-term knee injury.
Shrewsbury Town take on the Latics in the first round of the competition at Greenhous Meadow (7.45pm kick-off).
