Keep up-to-date with the latest news from the Youth Team on both Facebook and Twitter.

The Club and college also provide a range of placement and enrichment activities for subject areas across college.

As well as the scholarship programme, Shrewsbury Town works closely with Shrewsbury College to run the Futsal L3 course plus the introduction of a Level-3 Football education programme for students who want to play football at a high level.

"With the recent developments at the college and the new industry-standard 3G pitch, the college will be a pleasant and fun environment for the scholars and will contribute greatly towards both their educational and sporting achievements that have been evident throughout the scholarship programme." Steve Reece, academy manager at Shrewsbury Town, said: "It’s a very exciting time for sport at the college and we are privileged that the quality of our teaching and facilities has been recognised and that the college will play a part in the education and training of future football stars."

Catherine Armstrong, assistant principal, operations and curriculum at Shrewsbury College, said:
"Shrewsbury College has developed into a top-class college with some fantastic facilities.

"Their commitment to delivering a top-class education programme is another attraction.

"We also want the players to be integrated within the town and the local community.”
Matt Williams, Shrewsbury Town's chief executive, said:

The scholars come from all over the country and are already very talented footballers, but the Club emphasises the importance of education as part of their football training, so all apprentices are working towards their Level 3 Diploma in Sport – which Shrewsbury College will now deliver.

The programme has produced Premiere League stars such as Joe Hart (Manchester City) and David Edwards (Wolverhampton Wanderers) as well as current first team players, Ryan Woods and Connor Goldson among others.

The scholarship programme has been running since 1996 and employs scholars to train as professional footballers with the aim of making it as a first team player.

Shrewsbury Town have officially launched a new partnership to deliver the Club's prestigious scholarship programme with Shrewsbury College.
