FULL-TIME: Wolves 4-5 Shrewsbury Town

Wolves grabbed a goal in the last ten minutes to reduce the deficit to just one goal but Town hung on and recorded a well-deserved win.

The hosts struck an equaliser shortly after, but Shrewsbury responded excellently with two goals in quick succession from Wilson and Kenton to give the visitors a comfortable lead.

After the short break Shrewsbury sprung to life and equalised through striker Wilson, who cut inside and fired a low shot into the bottom corner before Jacob Rammell gave Shrewsbury the lead for the first time when he scored after a corner was not cleared by the Wolves defence ten minutes later.

Shortly after the restart Wolves once again took the lead with a low finish into the bottom right hand corner before play had to be stopped a few minutes later for an injury to substitute Tom King, who was duly replaced by Kenton.

Town made four changes at halftime with Mathew Jones, Wilson, Tom King and Harvey Howell replacing Kenton, Nathan Millis, Hassall and Ethan Jones.

HALF-TIME: Wolves 1-1 Shrewsbury Town

It meant that the teams went in level at half time.

That seemed to spur on the Shrews who launched numerous attacks on the opposition defenders, and they drew level through striker George Hassall who slotted home following the goalkeeper parrying a Chris Gallagher shot.

The game started with both teams trying to get a foothold in the game with chances for both in the first ten minutes, but it was the home side who took the lead after 15 minutes when a cross from the left-hand side was headed past the Town goalkeeper.

Goals from George Hasall, Jordan Wilson (2), Jacob Rammell and Joe Kenton gave the young Shrews the win in an entertaining clash at a blustery Compton Park training ground.

Shrewsbury Town's youth team beat their Wolves counterparts in a friendly on Saturday morning.
