You have to credit Notts County as they've absolutely defended for their lives today; they've got blocks in and the goalkeepers made saves to keep us out.
In the first half we were poor, we didn't have any life about us and looked lethargic and sloppy but in the second half we went about things properly and went for it.
On another day maybe we would have scored but today we didn't and have to accept that it was a point.
I've said to the players that we can't accept what happened in the first half and we have to make sure in every single game we are right from the first whistle.
We had to point a few things out to the lads at half-time and make sure they understand what is expected of them. That desire has to come from within from each individual and in the second half we did that other than score the goal.
We were maybe unfortunate with some of our chances but with better runs and a better desire to score we might even got goals other ways.
The whole idea is to give me the chance to have a look at every player as much as I possibly can, I've seen little bits of Steve Leslie for two games, I've seen bits of Chris Humphrey and they've done well. What we need to get with Chris though is a consistent end product as well, he shows the runs but we need that shot or cross at the end of it.
We've shown a lot of good things today but again we've only got the one point out of it and that is disappointing.
It's good to get a clean sheet but on Saturday at Dagenham I thought we deserved a clean sheet as well, I've pleased with the back-four and the way we've defended but what we need to do now is be a little bit more positive and get players into better areas and get them more relaxed when they play.
You have to credit the supporters for coming out in ridiculous condition; we had a near blizzard at the start and then freezing conditions. Hopefully they will stick with us and they all understand there is a period of change that will go on but hopefully we've shown enough in the second half that we are attack minded and want to go about and hopefully the players will give them something to cheer about until the end of the season.
