Town got back to winning ways with a well fought 1-0 win over AFC Bournemouth at the Prostar Stadium.
It was another game of two halves for Town with the home side putting in an excellent second half performance.
Terry Dunfield got the only goal of the game but the visitors had to thank their keeper and the woodwork for keeping the score to 1-0.
After the game Town manager Paul Simpson spoke to the press and was asked for his thoughts on the game: "It's a huge win against a good side, a side who have put us under a lot of pressure today.
"We struggled against them in the first half, we accept that we weren't as positive as we could have been and closed the down as quickly as we should have done.
"In the second half I thought we were much better, much more positive and created so many chances that on another day we would have got a bagful.
"I was hoping that wasn't going to cost us today and that we have saved those goals up for another day when we need them."
Simmo was asked if had words with the players at half-time to get the second half reaction and performance that they put in: "I wouldn't say there were harsh words but there were things said to get them to be a bit more positive.
"I spoke to the players during the week and said we have 13 games left and we want to win games of football.
"The only way you are going to do that is by being positive, by stepping in, by being aggressive with our passing and running. We weren't first half but in the second we were much better.
"I felt Hibbert and Cureton linked up much better, did really well and created a lot of chances.I thought the second half was probably Lewis Neal's best 45 for us and I'm delighted to have got the 3 points."
Terry Dunfield got the goal and it was a great way to put to bed the own goal he scored in the return fixture at Dean Court earlier in the season: "Good for Terry, I think he was heading over to me after scoring to have a go at me for leaving him out on Monday.I don't mind about that, if he does that he can have a go at me every day.
"He got forward and got around the edge of the box and it was the one time that we were able to beat the keeper and beat the post and I'm delighted to take the points with it."
It was another hard working defensive display from Town and Simmo was pleased with the reaction in the second half.He wasn't as pleased with the referee's decision to book Dean Holden in the second half: "I felt we struggled in the first half against Fletcher and against Pitman, who I think is a very good player.
"In the second half Kelvin got closer to Fletcher and won his headers when he had to.
"We got bodies in the way to block and it was a real gritty performance at times.
"I thought it was an absolute joke of a decision to give Dean Holden a yellow card for his first challenge of the game.Refs don't realise how much they cost us, that's his 10th booking and is now suspended for Saturday. It was the right decision to give the foul but why it had to be a yellow card I have no idea."
Jamie Cureton and Dave Hibbert are starting to get a good understanding as Town's new frontline pairing. The two combined well to create numerous chances and Simmo is backing then both to get on the score sheet very soon: "I'm encouraged about the way they have linked up and both are desperate for a goal.
"Maybe not Jamie as much but Dave is starting to get a little bit frustrated.
"I've said to him today that if he keeps doing the job that he has been doing for the team then I have no complaints at all.
"With someone like Jamie Cureton alongside him he is a distraction for the defenders, and Hibbo will get himself a tap in and he's just got to keep working.
"He was a little but unfortunate today, Jamie could maybe have had a hat trick on another day.His movement and position he takes up are those of a proper goal scorer and I look forward to seeing his first celebration."
It was an important 3 points for Town's push towards the top of the table and Simmo thinks that every game from now on is a game his side had to try and win: "I think all of our games are ones where it is essential to get 3 points as we need to be going and winning games.
"We wanted to get 3 points today and we now go to Grimsby who haven't won for a number of games and we need to go there, roll our sleeves up and get another 3 points.
"We need to do that and then to set ourselves up for the visit of the league leaders."
Paul Murray dropped to the bench after having a good performance in the Rotherham game.Simmo revealed that he had decided to go with Dunfield and McIntyre as he felt it was right for this game: "They've got great energy about them and that's why I went for those two again as they have done well since the Bradford game.
"It was probably hard on Paul Murray to leave him out but I had to go with the side I think will win the game for us.
"All the players are important, every single one, we've got 23/24 players who will be called up on before the end of the season.
"Someone will get the ball next week due to the suspension of Dean Holden, and it's up for them to take the opportunity to carry on where the others have left off."
