Town finished the season with a good performance in an important game for home side Port Vale.
The side stood up to the pressure from the home side and got off to a great start with Kris Bright getting another goal.
A second half penalty gave Port Vale a share of the points but overall it was an entertaining game.
After the game Mike Jackson stepped up to talk to the press and was asked for his thoughts on the game: "It was a good experience but a disappointment that we've not got more from the game.
"It's been a tough couple of days for me and Dave Hughes to cram in over the last 48 hours but we have been pleased with the way the lads have responded."
Town got off to a great start with Kris Bright giving Town the lead but they couldn't add to their tally: "It was a good finish and I think we could have had a couple more as we looked dangerous on the break.
"After 15 or 20 minutes we didn't get on the ball enough and towards the end of the first half they were getting on top of us.
"The cause you problems as they fullbacks push on, roll round you and have some good players."
Tom Bradshaw made his first start in a Town shirt and once again showed the potential that he has: "I thought he was excellent and his work rate and know how is good for a lad of a young age.
"If he keeps developing as we hope he does with the help from the staff then he's got a great chance.
"He is a good kid and wants to be a footballer and if you've got that to start with then you've got a good chance."
The game turned on a penalty decision that looked dubious at the time but Jacko revealed that it might have been the right decision: "I couldn't see if properly but some of the lads around said they thought it was a pen and that usually tells the story.
"It was disappointing and I've said to the lads after the game that they have done everything we've asked of them.
"What they need to do is go away now and have a think what they could have done better and get them ready for next year.
"They have shown their character in the second half and the defending was some of the best we've seen this season."
