Paul Simpson makes three changes to the side that went down 1-0 away to Bury last Friday night. In come Jamie Cureton, Jake Robinson and Paul Murray with Terry Dunfield, Craig Disley and Lewis Neal dropping down to the bench.

The Don Valley pitch had been covered in snow during the afternoon and the Rotherham ground staff and volunteers had worked wonders to clear the snow. The pitch had then got very boggy in places but the addition of some sand had made the pitch playable, just.

The home side though took to the conditions the best in the opening exchanges and had good chances for Pope and then Law.The best chance for Rotherham to grab the lead though came after they had a succession of shots that were blocked, saved or got stuck in the mud but somehow Town managed to keep the ball out.

Rotherham were 1-0 up on 10 minutes after Town conceded another penalty, Rotherham burst in to the box with Le Fondre, he went past Coughlan then went to ground, it looked a soft decision but ref Foster had no hesitation to award a spot kick.It was Le Fondre who placed the ball and he smashed a good shot in giving Button no chance and giving Rotherham the lead.

Town were creating a number of openings themselves with Hibbert and Cureton combining well as the front two, and Skarz was getting up to give options on the left, this resulted in an excellent hanging ball to the back post that Robinson hit first time of the volley connected but Warrington was down quickly to save.

Neither side were really putting their stamp on the game but both were trying to play football on what was an awful pitch. The sand and pitch were cutting up quite badly but both sides were keeping it down and were passing the ball around to trying to play their way into goal.

Town were growing as an attacking force as the half got nearer to the break and created a lovely chance.Robinson had been offering a good outlet down the right hand side and he found space to beat his marker and deliver a great ball into Hibbert, he connected well but Warrington was down to pull off a smart save to deny Hibbert.

Town did get back on level terms on 44 minutes with another well worked move that resulted in a corner near to the Rotherham by-line.Langmead played a quick ball into Robinson who played it back to Langmead, he knocked it back to Robinson who cut infield to lay the ball off to Murray, he took it inside before curling in a great shot that Warrington did well to save, but he could only palm it away and there was Steve Leslie following up to slot the ball home and make it 1-1.

Half-time: 1-1

It was still an open game after the restart with both sides still playing football and looking to take the advantage. The best of the attacking play and pressure was coming from Town who were forcing the Millers back.Chances and openings fell to Cureton, Leslie, Robinson, Hibbert and Cansdell-Sherriff but the home defence and Warrington were holding strong.

Dave Hibbert had the best chance of grabbing a goal on the 15 minutes mark, Paul Murray received the ball in the centre of the field and then threaded a great ball in behind the Millers defence to find Hibbert, he was in on goal with only Warrington to beat but the got held up in the mud and under his feet and this allowed a Rotherham foot to nick in and snuff out the danger.

Town were getting into some good positions in the Millers box and creating some great openings but they just lacked that little clinical finish around the box.Cureton and Hibbert were still combining well and both had good half chances but Warrington was still holding strong in the Millers goal.Robinson was having a great game on the right on the Town midfield and his pace was causing the Millers all sorts of problems, and Steven Leslie out on the left was growing as the game went on.

It was so nearly 2-1 to Town on 70 minutes when a ball in behind the Millers defence found Steve Leslie in on goal, he had a player behind him but Leslie was strong and continued his run in on goal, he drove in a low shot that Warrington managed to get a slight block to and it was just enough as the ball looped up and drop inches wide of the post.

Warrington was keeping the Millers in the game with a string of important saves and blocks.Hibbert found space in the box after a great ball in from the right hand side, he turned smartly and drove in a great shot but there was Warrington to pull off another great stop.

Paul Simpson made a double change bringing on Kris Bright and Craig Disley to replace Dave Hibbert and Paul Murray.Craig Disley only lasted 10 minutes though, he turned in the centre of the park and went down clearly in pain after catching his ankle in the Don Valley surface.Physio Nathan Ring was quickly onto the scene and it quickly became apparent that Disley was in pain, he needed oxygen and assistance from the doctor before being carried from the pitch and Terry Dunfield coming on in his place.

Town had a great chance to take all 3 points right at the death of the game after Kelvin Langmead had been fouled right on the edge of the Millers box. There was a cluster of Town players around the ball but it was Steve Leslie who curled in a shot but it dropped over the bar.

Full-time: 1-1
