Town make the one change to the side that drew with Cheltenham Town in the week with Steve Leslie coming in to replace Lewis Neal.

David Button was called into action with just over a minute on the clock, Davide Somma found a lot of space in the Town box and then drove in a low shot between a clump of Town players but Button was alert and was down quickly to stop the ball and Dunfield was there to clear the ball.

Town were creating their own decent chance and first Dunfield had a long range effort blocked after McIntyre had set him, then minutes later Jake Simpson created space down the right before driving in a vicious shot that ended in the side netting and the best has an overhead kick from Dave Hibbert from just inside the box which beat Burch but hit the crossbar.

Town kept pushing and looking to take the early advantage to get them on top. They created nice opening when the ball was pushed wide to Simpson on the right, he took a touch then drove in a low ball to find Hibbert in the box, he turned his marker and then drove in a vicious shot which flew just over the target.

The attacking play was all coming from Town and with Simpson and Leslie available down the flanks they were stretching the visitors.Simpson in particular was having a great game and had the beating of his marker on a number of occasions, he was also getting into some good goal scoring positions and pulled out a smart save from Burch at the near post after driving in an excellent shot.

Half-time: 0-0

Jake Simpson had two good chances at the start of the half to grab the lead for Ton.The first a good piece of individual skill saw him receive the ball on the edge of the box, he jinxed past two Lincoln players but didn't connect with his shot and it rolled wide of the target. The second was from a quick break from Town with Cureton taking play down the centre, he switched it to Leslie down the left who powered forward before crossing towards Simpson at the back post, he hit a superb first time volley but Burch was equal to it and managed to get a fist in the way to stop a certain goal.

Town were doing everything they could to grab the lead but somehow the ball was staying out of the Lincoln City net.A corner was hung up to the back post to find Langmead, he put in a great downward header which flashed across the face of the goal but no one could get that all important touch.

Dave Button had been having little to do but when the ball was put into the back post it found Matthew Saunders free in space, he took the ball down and then drove in a great looking shot but Button leapt across his goal to tip the ball onto the post.

A quick throw out from Button came to Steve Leslie who was now in the middle of the park, he span well to leave his marker and powered away down the centre of the park, he continued his run and then played a great ball to put Simpson in behind the Lincoln defence, he drove in a great low shot that beat Burch but flew agonisingly wide of the far post.

Town though didn't have to wait long to grab a deserved lead and it came from the poachers instinct of Kris Bright.Another good Town attack saw the ball come into Steve Leslie on the edge of the box, he flicked header on that found Bright in space just outside the penalty box and he flicked the ball past Burch to make it 1-0 to Town on 82 minutes.

Town were growing as the game carried on and where getting stronger and stronger.Jake Simpson must have had his best game in a Town shirt and all he needed was a goal to cap it off.Another good move saw Leslie play to Bradshaw out on the left, the ball was moved infield and then to Simpson coming in at the back post, he smashed in another great shot but once again Burch pulled off another great save.

Full-time: 1-0

Town put in a great performance and had a string of chances but it took until the 82nd minute for Kris Bright to break the deadlock
