Paul Simpson keeps faith with the side that put in such a good performance against Ipswich Town in the Carling Cup during the week. That means Joss Labadie returns to the squad but only on the bench with young Harry Hooman making way.Steve Leslie returns from suspension with Terry Dunfield dropping from the squad.

Barnet had a great chance to take the early advantage after a ball over the top found Jake Hyde in one on one with Chris Neal, Hyde tried to clip the ball past Neal but the Town keeper was down brilliantly to nick the ball away from Hyde's feet and save a certain goal.

Town then took the ball down to the Barnet end and won a free-kick about 25 yards out from goal.Paul Murray placed the ball and curled in a great ball behind the Barnet defence that found the diving header of Nathan Elder who connected excellently to give Town the lead with less than 2 minutes on the clock.

Barnet were playing some nice football when they got the ball and were spreading play around the Underhill pitch. They were seeing a lot of the ball around the Town box but the Town team were working hard to close down the home side.Barnet's best chance came on the quarter hour mark when the ball was cleared but only as far as Micah Hyde in space on the edge of the box, he hit a great looking shot but Chris Neal sprung across his goal to pull off another great save.

Barnet were getting closer to the Town goal and with Adomah and Jarrett sticking to the touchlines they were a constant threat down the wings. This time it was Adomah who got the ball out on the right, and he managed to lift a cross into the near post despite the attentions of McIntyre and Murray, Furlong found the space to get his head to the ball but Chris Neal was up quickly and did enough to force Furlong to put his header wide at the far post.

Barnet were handed a great chance to get back on level terms just before the half hour mark when they won a penalty.Albert Adomah once again showed good skills and control as he jinxed across the Town box, he rode a couple of challenges before Craig Disley dived in to take out Adomah and give away the penalty.Paul Furlong placed the ball and drove in a good looking low shot but Chris Neal guessed correctly and pulled off a great save.

Barnet were on level terms though moments later when Adomah was once again given too much time on the ball, he chipped over an inviting cross to find the head of Jake Hyde who looped a header back across goal which beat Chris Neal and dropped in at the back post.

Town's 4-3-3 formation meant that Barnet were seeing a lot of the ball out on the wings but it also saw their defence looking vulnerable on the break.Barnet were pushed high up the Underhill pitch and Town were looking to hit them on the break and were getting closer and closer to doing that. The home side were saved on a number of occasions by the offside flag as Disley, Robinson and Elder were all caught with very borderline decisions.

Barnet were handed another penalty that had the Town bench scratching their heads as to why ref Hooper had made the decision. The ball had been swung in from the right hand side and Holden and Jake Hyde went for the ball, Holden seemed to put the ball behind for a corner with Hyde going to ground but ref Hooper saw something at pointed to the penalty spot.It was Jake Hyde who took the ball and placed it for the spot kick and he drove a low shot under Neal to give Barnet a 2-1 lead before the break.

Half-time: 1-2

Town had the added disadvantage of kicking up the Underhill slope in the second half but they were working hard to get back onto level terms. It took 10 minutes for the first good effort on goal and it was Town who had this. Elder had done well to chase down Yakubu and force him to give away a corner, this was floated over and header clear but only as far as Paul Murray, he took a touch and drove in a low drive which Cole did well to turn around his post. The resulting corner was swung over by Cansdell-Sherriff and Dave Hibbert had got away from his marker and put away a point blank header to make it 2-2.

Town had another great chance moments later when a Holden throw in was headed on by Hibbert, it dropped to Jake Robinson who took a touch to control it before hitting a great shot over Cole but it flew just over the bar as well.

Barnet were still looking dangerous and they were causing some concern around the Town box, first when Dean Holden had to be alert at the back post to head behind when Furlong was looking to pounce and then Adomah again found space in the Town box but his cross/shot glanced off the top off the bar.

Town had a great chance to take the lead on 75 minutes following some great build up play from Town that saw Langmead putalong header over the Barnet defence to put Robinson saw down the right, he kept his run going before putting in an inviting cross towards Elder and Hibbert, Elder rose highest and got a great downward header in but somehow he put it just wide of the far post.

Hibbert had a great chance to add to his goal tally after a great ball in from Langmead found Hibbert in behind the home defence, he controlled the ball on his chest and then went to get his shot in but seemed to be pulled back, he got his shot in but Cole was down quickly to save. How Barnet could have been awarded a penalty late on in the half and this was not no one knows.

Town were getting some good sights of the Barnet goal and could easily have added to their tally on a number of occasions.More good pressing saw Yakubu give away a corner, this was swung over excellently by Cansdell-Sherriff and Kelvin Langmead rose well to meet it but he put his header over the target.

Town were finishing the stronger of the sides and had some good sights of the Barnet goal. The substitutions had seen Town switch to a 4-4-2 formation and this seemed to be stifling Barnet's wing play.Bright had a couple of good shots on goal and Craig Disley had a big shout for a penalty after good play had seen him break into the Barnet box and then be sent sprawling.

Town had some defending to do late on with first Adomah going close and then a quick break down the left saw the ball whipped into the near post but Langmead was alert to slide in and turn the ball behind for a Barnet corner.

Full-time: 2-2
