Town make the one change with Joss Labadie coming into replace Paul Murray who has a slight knock and Simmo doesn't want to chance any aggravation to this.

It was an open start to the game with both sides seeing some good possession of the ball and getting into some decent openings around the goals. The home side were looking the more likely to take the early advantage but the Town defence and Chris Neal were putting in a solid display.

Town's first real effort on the Daggers goal didn't come until the 12 minute after Labadie was fouled 20 yards from goal, he stood over the ball with Cansdell-Sherriff who laid it off to Labadie who drove in a decent effort which went side of the target.

The first booking of the game came with 20 minutes in the clock when Shane Cansdell-Sherriff was adjudged to have gone in a little too strong on Danny Green. The free-kick was floated across and Town managed to clear but they ball came back in and Paul Benson rose above the defence to head the ball past Neal and give the home side the lead.

The home side were 2-0 up on 25-minutes and it was that man Paul Benson again, this time the goal came after Langmead had tried to hold up Joss Scott but the Daggers forward managed to wriggle free and break for goal, he continued his run and then cross low to the far side to find Benson who had found space and he guided the ball past Neal to make it net his second goal of the evening.

Town's 4-3-3 formation was giving them good attacking options and when they did get the ball forward there were looking dangerous. First when Elder's pace pulled the Daggers defence but he was unlucky to have a foul given against him, and then moments later Robinson showed good pace to come inside from the right and cut across the pitch before putting Cansdell-Sherriff away down the left, he floated a ball over to find Hibbert but his header was over the target.

Then the home side hit Town with two quick goals to give them a mountain to climb. The first came after a good break down the left saw Scott Griffiths with the ball, Langmead was there but he backed off and this gave Griffiths some room that allowed him to hit a sweet strike which flew across the face of the goal and into the far corner. Then moments later another break saw Doe hit a diagonal ball cross field to find Green, the floated a ball into the box that saw Benson climb above Coughlan before headed the ball back across goal to make it 4-0 to the home side.

Town created a decent chance on 40 minutes when the ball found Shane Cansdell-Sherriff on the left hand touchline, he tuned his marker to give him the space to put a cross into the back post that saw Robinson hit a great first time volley but Tony Roberts was equal to it and got down to his near post to pull off a fine save.

Half-time: 4-0

The half started with two changes to the Town line-up with Omer Riza coming on to replace Nathan Elder and Steve Leslie on to replace Graham Coughlan, Town switched to 4-4-2 with Cansdell-Sherriff dropping back into defence alongside Kelvin Langmead.

Town had a good chance after the restart after Tony Roberts handed Town a corner. The ball was floated over by Cansdell-Sherriff and there was Hibbert with a header but the defender on the line was there to clear the danger.

Town had another good chance minutes later when Steve Leslie put a great delivery into the back post, Dave Hibbert slid in to get a great shot in but Roberts was there to get down to the foot of his post and stop a certain goal.

Omer Riza took a knock that needed treatment but he wasn't moving comfortably when he came back on and after just under 10 minutes on the pitch he needed to be replaced by Andre Gray.

The Daggers were still looking dangerous when they got the ball and they had a great chance to add to the lead with just over 60-minutes on the clock, Town couldn't get the ball clear and it dropped to Mark Arber in the 6 yard box but he failed to connect and Town breathed a sigh of relief and cleared downfield.

The home side grabbed another goal with 70 minutes on the clock and it was Benson who got his fourth of the night and the Daggers fifth. The home side were somewhat lucky to be awarded a free-kick after Holden seemed to have taken the ball cleanly from Gain, the free-kick was pushed wide and found Gain, he found the space to cut to the by-line and hang a cross into the back post and there was Benson to once again head the ball past Neal.

Andre Gray and Steve Leslie's introduction had given Town some options down the flanks and they were building some good attacking moves when they could. The best after a ball from Labadie dropped in behind the Daggers defence to find the run of Gray, he brushed past his marker and burst into the box but unfortunately he dragged his shot wide of the mark.

Chris Neal may have had five shots go past him over the evening but he's also pulled off a number of good stops when he got the chance, he had to be at his best when the ball dropped to Solomon Taiwo who hit a great first time dipping volley but Neal was alert and athletically tipped the ball over at full stretch.

Full-time: 5-0
