It's same again for Town as Graham Turner sticks with the same side who did so well at Macclesfield Town last Saturday to come away with the 3 points.

It was the visitors who had the best chance in the opening 5 minutes when a neat move saw Luke Guttridge and Anthony Striker combine well with a one two on the edge of the box that put Striker in on goal, he managed to get a shot in on goal but Raven had tracked back to narrow the angle and Chris Neal was down quickly for a comfortable save.

Town were playing some lovely stuff early on and a piece of skill from Ainsworth saw him drift through the Aldershot midfield before pushing play wide to Robinson, he hit in an early ball that saw Matt Harrold get to with a brilliant diving header but Young in the Shots goal was equal to it and pulled off a smart save.

Aldershot had come to make a game of it and were putting a lot of pressure on to the home side but Town looked comfortable in defence and attack. It was the home side who were having he better of the goal chances and when Ainsworth switched play to Wright on the left he looked for options, he found one when the ball was driven into Harrold's feet, he was in the box with his back to goal but did well to turn his marker and then drive in a low shot with his left foot but again Young was there to deny Town.

It was Town who grabbed the lead just before the half-hour and this time it was a set-piece.Aldershot cheaply gave away a free-kick after Matt Harrold was sent flying after a needless shove in the back.Mark Wright placed the ball some 35 yards from goal and hit in a decent delivery towards the penalty spot, Ian Sharps had lost his marker to find himself in acres of space and dispatched a great diving header that gave Young's no chance.

The lead didn't last more than two minutes before Aldershot got back onto level terms. They won a corner which was delivered into a crowded box, it was headed clear but only as far as Anthony Charles just inside the box, he brought the ball down and drove in a low shot through the crowded area and the ball sneaked in under Chris Neal to make it 1-1.

Aldershot had a great chance to grab the lead after Morgan had done well and powered towards the Town goal, he played a nice one two on the edge of the box to skip through the Town defence and was in on Neil's goal but Craig Disley had read the situation well and come back to slide in at the vital moment to snuff out the danger.

Half-time: 1-1

Town nearly added to their scores right after the break whensome good early pressure, first Wright flashed the ball across the face of goal but then when it came out to Ainsworth around 25 yards out he let it drop before hitting an excellent volley that dipped just over the target.

It was a finely balanced game between two sides who wanted to play football but with the half-time introduction of Steve Leslie for Jake Robinson had stifled the shots attacking play.It meant that Town had more in midfield with the onus on these players to get forward to support Matt Harrold. They were doing this will and when the ball was laid back for Leslie just outside the box he drove in an excellent shot but an Aldershot body got in the way to deflect the ball behind for a corner.

With 30 minutes of the game remaining Graham Turner made his second switch of the afternoon brining on Shane Cansdell-Sherriff to replace Daniel O'Donnell.

The better of the chances were still falling to Town but they just couldn't get the final important touch to put the ball home.Matt Harrold got a couple of decent headers on target from good deliveries, Mark Wright tested Young and some great play from Ainsworth nearly saw Anthony Charles turn the ball past his own keeper at the near post.

The last 20 minutes was a scrappier affair with neither side getting into any flow with the ball not sticking for either side.Town were still looking to break down the flanks and with Ainsworth now on the sidelines it was up to Van Den Broek to be the outlet down the right hand side.

The game ended in controversy after Matt Harrold had worked hard to close down Shots captain Anthony Charles, Harrold looked to have put in an honest challenge but Charles went tumbling and ref Miller was quickly over to add another soft booking to Harrold's earlier one and it was a red card for the Town striker.

Full-time: 1-1
