Andy Cooke has had the results back from the specialist and it's not looking like good news.
Cookey pulled up in the Colchester United game and was sent to see a specialist late last week. The results have come in and there is good news and bad news.
The results revealed that there was no rupture to the tendon attaching the hamstring on his right leg. There is a bad tear though but this will not require any surgery.
It's looking like Cookey will be missing for up to 3-months.
GP revealed the news to ShrewsWeb this morning and was disappointed to be losing Cookey for such a long time: "It's obviously disappointing news for us and for Cookey
"He's started the season well, scoring a couple of goals and was looking sharp.
"Just because the medical people say it will be in the region of 3-months doesn't always mean that it will be 3-moinths.
"Cookey knows his own body, he's a quick healer and he's hoping to be back a lot sooner than that."
