Stuart Nicholson's loan period looks to be ending in January with a return to WBA.
Town manager Gary Peters has revealed that since joining Stuart has had a personal problem that has affected his performances in a Town shirt.
Stuart looked to have been a real coup when GP brought him into the club but with only 1 goal in 6 starts and 8 substitute appearances it hasn't been the best spell for the promising youngster.
It's been decided to allow Stuart to return to his native Newcastle to sort these problems out before he returns to West Brom in the New Year: "Stuart is due to go back to West Bromwich Albion in January but he's got a personal problem that he needs to deal with.
"It's something that's been an ongoing situation since a couple of weeks into his loan period with us and is probably one of the reasons he hasn't played as well as we know he can do.
"We've allowed him to go back home to Newcastle for the period before he returns to West Brom.
"Hopefully he can then get himself sorted and that will then allow him to perform after January.
"Unfortunately it hasn't quite worked out for him during his time with us but I'm sure it will when he gets another opportunity at another club.
"It is disappointing for us and disappointing for Stuart but he needs to get everything sorted out before he can move on."
When GP managed to secure the signing of Stuart back in august he was raving about the young strikers potential. A loan spell with Bristol Rovers last season saw a return of a goal every two games but at Town he never hit those heights. It's just a case of a loan move that hasn't really worked out for either party after Stuarts problems early into the loan: "I was delighted with the signing of Stuart and the fact that we had been able to get him to come to the club.

"He'd scored a goal every two games during his time with Bristol Rovers and I'd seen him play for West Brom and for England youth as well.
"Stuart has got all the credentials to do well in football but unfortunately the fact is that two weeks after we got him he had a personal situation to deal with.
"He feels that he hasn't done himself justice here and I know he hasn't as I've seen him many times before and he hasn't been that player I've seen before."
When he brought Stuart in GP said that the loan was for a season long and that was hoped to be the case. The problems though have meant that both parties have looked at the situation and decided that it's best that they call in the break clause in the loan agreement: "We would have liked to have kept it for a yearlong loan but obviously things haven't worked out as we both would have liked to.
"There is a break clause in January and that will be taken up so Stuart can get himself right.
"Hopefully he will be able to sort out the personal problem that's been with his since he got here and will then be able to get himself back to how he was last season."
Stuart is out of contract with West Brom at the end of the season and both he and GP spoke of the possibility of a fulltime move if the loan worked out. GP revealed that this may not be the case now but that he'd be keeping an eye on the situation: "You never know what happens in football and you never say never or close any doors.
"I think it would be hard to follow it up again as it might be an awkward situation for Stuart as he's only got the one goal since he's been here.
"It's something we'd have to take as it comes and keep an eye on."
