Town manager Gary Peters and his staff were working long into the night to tie up several deals before the transfer window closed. There were a couple of possible moves in and out of the club in the offing and in the end it was successful night for the Town boss.
They had been hoping to have things tied up a lot earlier but in the end the moves took a little bit longer than GP had hoped: "We've done a bit of business but we don't like don't things at the last minute and we set out to do one of these deals right at the beginning of January when the window first opened. In the end it took until quarter past eleven last night to finally get the deal done.
"Sometimes clubs who have the players try to hold out until the last minute to see if anyone else will come in and offer more money for them. We made our views know right at the start and in the end it took until yesterday to get things moving.
"We were hoping to have the players over here at 9am but in the end they trained with Kidderminster and didn't come over until later, then Kiddy had a board meeting and in the end the players didn't get over here until 7 in the evening. We then had show them around, agree terms, have medicals and it all ended up getting done late last night. "
The first to sign was striker James Constable who Town had been linked with for a while now. Constable is a 23 year old striker who first came to prominence while playing for Walsall. He had a loan spell at Kidderminster and when Walsall got promoted this turned into a permanent move.
Constable had hit the headlines this season with his goal scorning for the Harriers and GP is confident that he will do well at Town: "We've signed James Constable and this is something that the fans have been talking about for a long time that we've been interested in and that was true.
"He's a young player, 23 years of age, 6'1", athletic, decent in the air, can hold the ball up and most importantly he can score goals. He's been scoring goals at Kidderminster regularly and we want to give him the chance to score goals in our division, as we have with Guy Madjo.
"We carried on perusing him and made sure that Kidderminster were aware we were still interested in him and a phone call came through on Monday which started the ball rolling again.
"James was at Walsall and went to Kidderminster on loan in November 2006 and did well enough for the move to be made permanent when Walsall went up. He's done well this season and scored 11 goals in about 20 games and a lot of those came at the beginning.
"Since our interest became known I think it's been hard for him because he didn't think it might happen. He hasn't had his eye on the ball at the moment but I'm sure that he'll know be back on track.
"There have been players coming out of the Conference lately who have shown that with Peterborough taking Boyd, Mackail-Smith and Aaron McLean who is the hottest property in our division now."
The other player to come in is Kidderminster's keeper Scott Bevan who is widely recognised as being one of the best stoppers in the Conference. The move was dependant on Town keeper Chris MacKenzie going the other way and Chris has now joined the Harriers on a permanent deal.
GP has watched Bevan play a couple of times this season and has been impressed with the Southampton born keeper's performances. He's brought Bevan in to put extra pressure on Glyn Garner and believes the competition will be good: "There was a possibility of Chris going to Kidderminster, he'd been on loan there and did well there and they wanted him to go back.
"There has been a lot of talk about Scott Bevan recently and Stockport were trying to buy him and a lot of other clubs interested in him with a lot of people saying that he is the best keeper in the Conference at the moment.
"He's 6'6" and I think I watched probably the best goalkeeping performance I've seen of the season when I went he played against Cambridge United earlier in the year and I don't think I've seen a keeper play as well as he did.
"He's a goalkeeper we think that is totally different than what we've got, Glyn, Ryan and Chris were all about the same size and have different strengths and weaknesses but with Scott we've got something totally different.
"He'll come in and work with Glyn and he will give him a challenge for the first team spot. I don't think at times that either Chris or Ryan were putting enough pressure on Glyn but Scott will do that.
"Scott is coming in with lots of enthusiasm and really wants to get on and play and hopefully we will see the best of him.
"Chris has gone the other way and joined Kidderminster on a permanent deal and I'd like to thank him for all the work he's done here."
The other player to go out on loan is young defender Luke Jones who has also made the short trip to Kiddy. Luke has joined on an initial month's loan which GP hopes will give him some good first team experience: "Luke has gone on loan to Kidderminster for a month, Stuart Whitehead has left them and so Luke has gone in there. It's for an initial month but there is the chance that it could be longer loan if it goes well for him.
"It will give him some good experience and at the moment we have three centre-backs as well as Mossey and Marc Tierney who can play there, as well as James Meredith. We've got enough cover there so I think it's a good idea for him to go out and get a run of games.
"This season he's been out for a lot of the early part of the season following his injury, he's played one very good game here at the new stadium and two not so good games away at Rotherham and Accrington.
We need to get him playing games as he's always been solid for us, he came to me asked if there was any chance of playing games and we had a different loan lined up for him at another Conference club but with the deal being done with Kidderminster they asked if part of the deal was that they could take him on loan.
"Luke is still young and he needs to get some experience and that isn't playing in our reserves and playing first team football at Kidderminster will do him good and I think it's a great move for him.
"If he does well then there's a chance that he can push into our first team, and he has every chance of doing that."
James Constable will have squad number 10 while Scott Bevan will have squad number 21. James has joined on a 2 1/2 year deal and Scott Bevan on an 18 month deal for undisclosed fees.
GP wanted to hand Guy Madjo the number 10 shirt when he joined but as Stuart Nicholson was still officially on loan at Town this couldn't happen. Now that Nicholson has joined Wrexham on loan the number 10 shirt is now up for grabs and James will wear it.
