Town have had a decent pre-season on the injury front with only a few slight bumps and bruises. Manager Paul Simpson looked to have a fully fit squad going into the season kick-off against Macclesfield Town on Saturday but that changed on Thursday.

Late into the training session midfielder David Hunt pulled up and this has been diagnoses as a slight knee ligament strain. The injury isn't a serious one and the early diagnosis is that David will be missing from train for about a week.

The news is a bit of blow to Simpson as he looks towards the weekend's game: "It is a disappointment as we've had a good pre-season with few injuries.

"It's also a disappointment for David as he's played the 2nd most minutes of any player during the pre-season games and been involved a lot."
