Kelvin Langmead started the season on the bench thanks to the form of Mike Jackson and Graham Coughlan despite him having a good pre-season. When Coughlan picked up a hamstring injury it handed Kelvin with his chance which he's grabbed with both hands: "Football changes very quickly and it happens every week where players come in and out of the side.
"It's about taking your chance when it comes and I've been pleased with the way it's gone for me and the fact that we are unbeaten in the league.
"I think the players that the manager has brought into the team add that extra experience and it's important that us younger lads learn from them.
"It's about the team keeping that form going and for us to continue to kick up the league."
The addition of Mike Jackson to the Town defence has seen him ad some much needed experience to the backline. Jackson's experience has rubbed off on the team and especially Kelvin who is enjoying playing alongside the ex Blackpool captain: "You can learn from the experienced players and Jacko has played over 600 games in his career at a very high level.
"He brings a lot to the team and especially to myself playing alongside him can only help me.
"He works very hard on his fitness and keeps himself right, he's very dedicated and that's why he's still playing."
Town's defence had kept clean sheets in all their league games up until Saturday's draw away to Notts County. The performance showed a gritty side to Town's play and they can take a lot from the game: "It's always disappointing to concede goals, especially as a defender, and we will look at those goals to see what we could have done better.
"We were disappointed but we dug deep and showed the ugly side that we have.
"We kept battling and Humps and Symesy came on and created a great goal."
The game also highlighted that the lads who are not in the starting line-up will get their chances over the season. At the start of the season fans questioned the size of the Town squad but with injuries it means that a few have already made the step up: "It's important to have strengthened in depth and that is definitely something that we have in our squad.
"There are 24 players in our squad who think they should be playing it's healthy to have that competition.
"As has been shown this season, and especially on Saturday, it's about taking your chance when it does come along."
Next up is another trip down to the South West to take on Exeter City again. Town came away with a 1-0 win 2 weeks ago but this time the winners will be looking for Johnstone Paints Trophy glory. It's a competition that some clubs won't be taking seriously but Kelvin revealed that Town are looking to go all the way: "It's a long way to travel but you have to get your head around that early on and make sure that you are focused on the game.
"I know some teams don't got out there and put out their strongest squads in this competition but we will be focused on going out there and winning the game.
"No footballer wants to go into a game and lose it and we want to go out there to win the game and progress.
"If there are lads who do come into the side then they want to take their chance and hopefully we can for out there as a team and win it.
"If you look at last season MK Dons went out there and won the competition and won promotion and I don't see why we can't do that either."
