Thornton set to stay?
Sean Thornton came in on loan just under a month ago and he has added something to the centre of the Town midfield. His performances have improved game on game and at Wycombe on Tuesday night he was many people's man of the match.
His month's loan is up after the weekend and talks have been going on today between Simmo and his opposite number Martin Ling at Leyton Orient.
Ling has spoken in the local press that he is happy for Sean to stay with Town for another month. He has also mentioned that Town may have to make a larger financial contribution towards Sean's wages but this could be a problem.
Town manager Paul Simpson has praised what Thornton has brought to the Town side but he has revealed that the clubs budget needs to be adhered to: "I've been really pleased with Sean and I think he's got stronger as the month has gone on.
"I'm still continuing to talk with Orient and with Martin Ling to see if we can do something more with Sean.
"I'd like him to stay and Sean would like to stay but at the end of the day it may come down to finances and if we can't afford him then so be it.
"It's not a complaint from me as we have really pushed the boat out this year with the extra signings that we've made to the squad.
"If we have to pay more for Sean Thornton than we can afford then we'll have to thank him for what he's done, shake his hand and wish him all the best and he moves on and we will have to look elsewhere.
"At this moment we are still talking and we will see if anything can be done."
