Manager Paul Simpson will receive a specially engraved crystal football in a presentation to be screened on Sky Soccer Saturday on 11th October 2008.

With the victory Shrewsbury receive the award for the second time this season and the club cruise into the southern section quarter-finals of the competition.

Grant Holt produced a magnificent display scoring five goals on the night. A Holt header and a close range effort came before Holt assisted Kevin McIntyre to make it 3-0. Shane Cansdell-Sherriff extended the lead with a chip and Holt grabbed his first-ever hat-trick with another header. A volley and then a drilled shot made his tally to five and completed the scoring.

After the match, Shrewsbury manager Paul Simpson was delighted with the result, with Shrewsbury scoring seven for the second time this season;

"We couldn't have really asked for anymore for the lads, it was a tremendous performance from every single one of them. That's the best I've ever seen in terms of a complete performance. We're on a good run at the moment and long may it continue."

Simpson also highlighted the contribution from Grant Holt;

"In all honesty Grant Holt has been superb since the day he arrived. It's not just about his goals but it's the way he works - he's a player of true quality which is just what we need."
