Things are starting to look up on the injury front with the majority of the squad expected to be back in training this week.
Shane Cansdell-Sherriff has been struggling with an ankle problem but a scan has revealed nothing to worry about and he is expected to be back in training this week. Dave Hibbert picked up an injury when he over extended his knee in the reserves game on Wednesday but there has been no reaction to this and he will be back in training today.Paul Murray had a sickness bug towards the end of last week, this has cleared and he will resume training today.
Luke Daniels is still suffering with his thigh problem but is slowly recovering and it is hoped that he will be back in training late this week or early next.Chris Humphrey continues to recover from his broken cheekbone picked up at Lincoln and he is hoping to be back before the New Year.
It is good news for Town manager Paul Simpson as Town look ahead to the busy Christmas period: "The break over the weekend has been good for us in that it has given the lads a little break which has allowed a few of the niggling injuries to improve.
"It is encouraging news for Shane, Hibbo and Paul Murray and that should allow us to have more options in training this week.
"We are going into a busy period of the season now and we need all the players to be available for this."
It is encouraging news as Town prepare for the weekend visit of Rotherham though the problem this week could be with the training facilities.Temperatures in Shropshire hit -4 last night and this has meant the training pitches are a little firm underfoot, but the Town squad are expected to use the all weather facilities at the Powerleague this morning so preparation shouldn't be affected.
