Marc Tierney's loan deal to Colchester has turned into a permanent deal with the left-back joining for an undisclosed fee.

Marc initially joined Colchester on loan and since then has become a near ever present in the League 1 club's first team.

The news brings to end a two year stint with Town which saw Marc play over 80 games and impress the Town faithful.

Town manager Paul Simpson confirmed the news to ShrewsWeb that Marc had joined Colchester: "Marc has stayed in the side and that is a sign that he must be doing something right.

"It was a deal that was talked about when he initially went on loan to Colchester.

"The deal has all gone through now and as much as I would have liked to have kept Marc the situation was that he was out of contract and he wanted to try and better himself.

"So far that has happened and what we have to do is keep working with the players here and try to get them to that next level for next season."
