Pugh's Red Overturned

Posted on: Tue 20 Jan 2009

The FA's regulatory commission have considered Town's appeal against Marc Pugh's red card and have overturned the decision.

The members sat this afternoon to look again at the incident that saw Pughey shown a red card in the 1-1 draw at Port Vale. After reviewing the video they have ruled that it was a case of unfair dismissal.

This means that Pughey's suspension for 3 games has been withdrawn and he is available for first team selection.

The club received the news this afternoon and manager Paul Simpson was delighted with the outcome:"I'm delighted with the outcome of this and I'd like to thank the panel for coming to their decision.

"It's great news for Pughey and for us as we can now continue to prepare for the weekends game with him available for selection."
