David Worrall signed on loan this week from West Brom, ShrewsWeb, caught up with him after he had settled in and had a bit of a chat.
You have been here a couple of days now David, what do you think?
The training has been good, it's been different from West Brom and the pitches have been different but it's been good, I have enjoyed it. The lads have helped me out a lot.
Do you feel comfortable in this league, after having started with Bury and having a loan spell at Accrington?
Those two have done me the world of good, to see the different leagues and different pitches, so it's helped me out and furthered my career.
The move from Bury when you were quite young must have been a good boost for you.
It was a good move, and I just wanted to step up and see how it was and see if I could do it a couple of leagues above, see how I compared to them, and I thought I did well.
How do things differ at a Premiership club?
I've really enjoyed it, all the lads there have helped me out, they have kept me in behind afterwards, to do extra, to help me get in the team. As a couple have said, it's time for you to get out and get a first team, and then come back and see if you can make a difference, hopefully I can make a difference here as well.
Nice to be amongst some West Brom old boys?
I was happy to see them because I haven't seen them for a while, and also Marc Pugh from Bury, so it was good to see them all.
How do you find the training?
The training has been good, it's been hard, but it's been good.
What do you think of the ground and facilities?
I've played in this stadium before for the reserves, and it's nice, newly built so I was happy to come here when they said Shrewsbury, I said definitely.
It's a 28 day deal, which allows us to have a look at each other, are you looking longer term?
Hopefully, the gaffer will give me a good chance, and I will prove to him that I am good enough, maybe to extend it to the end of the year.
The Gaffer says you play on the right side of midfield so can help us there, would you agree with that?
I am anywhere in the midfield, just attacking really. I'll do the hard bits, I'll tackle and put my body on the line, but I like to go forward.
You have a bit of pace too?
Yes, but it's my stamina that gets me through, when everyone else is tired, I am still running, so pace comes into it then.
Are you looking to get into the squad for Macclesfield?
Hopefully, but I will be happy to just get on the bench for the first couple of games, and maybe get on, and show what I can do, and help the team get a win.
I know I am not going to get into the team straight away because they are up there, playing well and looking to get straight up, so it's up to me to get into the team.
