Following Tuesday night's disappointing 1-1 draw with Exeter, Shrewsbury will hope to return to winning ways when Notts County travel to the Prostar on Saturday.
Town have slipped out of the play-off places after a run of three games without a win, but with only five points between the Shrews and third-placed Rochdale, Paul Simpson's men know a win on the weekend would put them back in contention.
Notts County have also endured a poor run of form, with only one win from their last four games, but that came last weekend with an impressive 3-1 home win against promotion chasing Bradford.
It was a different story on Tuesday night when they slipped to a 1-0 defeat against Darlington, and haven't won on their travels since they picked up a win at Grimsby on Boxing Day.
The Nottingham side had started well, and went 11 games unbeaten at the start of the season, including a 2-2 draw with Town at Meadow Lane in August, however faded and now sit in 15th place in the League Two table.
Ian McParland is currently in the hot-seat at the world's oldest football club, and helped keep the club from falling out of the Football League last season when they finished 21st, and has continued to keep the club away from the drop-zone this campaign.
The game will also see Graham Coughlan take on the role of club captain for Town following Simpson's decision to strip Ben Davies of the armband to help recapture his form, and re-ignite the Shrews' push for promotion.
Salop's rivals to go up are all in action on Saturday, with leaders Brentford travelling to Rotherham, and second placed Wycombe taking on Chesterfield at Adams Park.
3rd face 4th when Bury play host to Rochdale, and fifth-placed Bradford are at home to Aldershot. Exeter face another long away day following their draw at the Prostar in midweek, when they travel to bottom placed Luton.
