Get Behind The Lads

Posted on: Fri 24 Apr 2009

ShrewsTRUST - the Shrewsbury Town Supporters Trust are urging fans to turn up in numbers and fully back the team on Saturday.

With two games left of the season, Town currently lie in 8th position, one place outside the playoffs, on goal difference.

On Saturday Town face Lincoln City. A side Town haven't beaten in their last five visits to Shropshire, and although the Imps are out of the play off picture, Town know they will face a tough test.

Adrian Plimmer - Supporters/ Club Liaison Director for the Trust said

' The next two games are vital in Town's season, and we urge all Salop fans to turn up in numbers, and really get behind the team'

' The atmosphere at the Prostar has been a little quiet at times and now would be a great opportunity to really make some noise when Lincoln visit this Saturday'

Roger Groves - Trust Chairman added

'It's vital that we as supporters, play our part in helping the team reach the play-offs. We can do that by having a full house on Saturday, and by creating a special atmosphere that will drive the team on'

The Trust are asking fans to turn up in as much Blue and Amber as possible, and really get involved in the singing and chanting that emanates from the South and West Stands.

By doing so, shrewsTRUST believe the fans can play a significant part in the first of what could be just four matches away from a Wembley final.

Ian Jones - Trust Vice Chairman added

'What's gone is gone. It's almost like a mini league. We have to try and create an atmosphere like we did for those big games at Gay Meadow, and if we can, the rewards are fantastic'
