New goalkeeper Chris Neal feels that the group of players in the squad, coupled with the Training Camp in Spain has really helped him settle into the club.
"It can be difficult going to a new club. I've come away with the lads to Spain which is really helping me and all the other new players to settle in" said the tall goalkeeper.
"I do know some of the lads from before, so it has been a brilliant start for me."
With Luke Daniels having such a good season for the club last year, many fans will see Chris as a direct replacement for Luke, who returned to West Brom at the end of his loan spell.
"I don't think it creates a lot of pressure for me, obviously Luke did brilliant last year and had a fantastic year but I am just going to knuckle down and am glad that I can get a few league games under my belt now."
"This is a massive opportunity for me to play now and obviously the gaffer has given me this chance and I am ready to step in and play some first team football."
The return to the club of goalkeeping coach Dave Timmins was a boost to Chris, having worked with him at Preston.
"When you have got your own goalkeeping coach at the club, it does benefit you a lot. You work on your specific stuff day in day out and it is brilliant."
"Obviously over here in Spain, its hard, but we have to do it and it will benefit us in the future."
Having seen the club narrowly miss out on promotion last season, the ex-Preston keeper is determined to help the club go one step further this time.
"From what I have seen of the lads so far, there is the potential to push on. Realistically, we should be pushing for promotion this year and I think if we don't, it is not going to be seen as a successful season."
