Lewis Out

Posted on: Mon 03 Aug 2009

Lewis Neal will be missing for the season opener against Burton Albion with a Grade 2 ankle sprain.

Lewis picked this up in the weekend's trip to Tranmere Rovers when he went over on the ankle at the end of the first half.

The ankle has now had time to settle and after assessment the early indications are that Lewis will be missing for between 4 to 6 weeks.

It comes as a bit of blow to Town manager Paul Simpson as he starts his preparations for the start of the season: "It is a bit of a blow to have lost Lewis for the start of the season but sometimes injuries such as these can take a lot longer to recover.

"Lewis has shown some good signs in the pre-season campaign and he is really disappointed that he will be missing.

"It gives us a little headache for the next few games but there are options in the squad that can come in to cover."
