Neal Out

Posted on: Tue 17 Nov 2009

Keeper Chris Neal will be missing for up to 6 weeks after breaking his middle finger in training last week.

Chris damaged his finger on the Tuesday before the Torquay and thought he would be ok after the doctor put a block on it. He was able to play but the finger continued to cause him discomfort over the weekend and he had an X-ray on it yesterday.

This has revealed a break in the finger and Chris will now need to rest the finger and allow it to heal. With Glyn Garner still recovering from having muscles in his shoulder reattached this currently leaves Town with Andreas Arestidou as the only fit keeper.

The news comes as a blow to Simmo who is now once again looking to the loan market: "It is a massive blow for us and for Chris after he has worked so hard to get himself back to fitness.

"It will mean up to 6 weeks out for Chris while this clears up and hopefully all will go to plan.

"I've now got to look at bringing in a loan keeper before the weekend's game and I'm hopeful of doing this."
