Shrewsbury Town have today announced the appointment of Wayne Evans as the new Centre of Excellence manager.
Wayne is an ex professional who had spells playing for the likes of Walsall, Rochdale and Kidderminster Harriers before moving into coaching and was recently coaching in Canada.
He will join the youth set-up with the responsibilty of overseeing the Centre of Excellence from the under 8s upwards.
Town's Head of Youth David Hughes is pleased to have been able to bring someone of Wayne's calibre to the club: "Wayne is an excellent appointment with local knoweldege and expereicne in the game and is fully qualified.
"It bolsters the set-up and allows us to help guide the youth policy in the way that we want.
"Together we will be looking to get the structure beneth the youth team right to try and ensure that we are the first port of call in Shropshire for any talented youngsters."
