Town will be launching their 'Tickets for Troops' initiative at the home game against Grimsby Town.

The club has invited guests from the RAF Shawbury base and The Royal Irish guards based at Clive Barracks, Tern Hill.

They will walk around the pitch ahead of the game before be being presented to our fans. They will then form a 'guard of honour' for the two teams.

Tickets for Troops aim is for tickets to be made available to soldiers who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. All serving military personnel and any veterans who have been medically discharged through injury since 2001 qualify for tickets.

Speaking on behalf of the club Jon Harris said that Shrewsbury Town are fully committed to supporting this initiative: "Tickets for Troops is an excellent initiative and one which the club will do all it can to promote.

"Serving personnel will be able to obtain a ticket for a home game by presenting their warrant card at the ticket office ahead of a game.

"We will also be sending out a number of tickets to the bases at RAF Shawbury and Tern Hill for every remaining home game this season."
