Mike Jackson has been out of action this season with a persistent knee problem that has carried over from last season.

Jacko has been working hard over the season to try and get over the problem and on Wednesday travelled to see a specialist.

Simmo revealed that there had been an improvement and Jacko would now begin work to build up the knee: "The specialist revealed that there had been a slight improvement on his problem with the knee joint.

"Jacko will build up the work that he's doing and load the joint over the next 4 weeks.

"If everything goes to plan then we would be looking to get him back into training after that but if it doesn't then Jacko will need an operation on his knee."
