Shrewsbury Town manager Graham Turner has received a couple of injury blows ahead of the Carling Cup clash with Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.
Defender Daniel O'Donnell and Lionel Ainsworth both look set to miss Tuesday night's game after picking up injuries in the draw at home to Aldershot Town.
Ainsworth has a slight groin problem but is expected to be back for the weekend, O'Donnell also had a groin problem but this is suspected to a hernia which could keep him out for longer.
O'Donnell is booked into see a specialist on Wednesday afternoon so we should have a better idea of the long term prognosis when the results of that meeting are received.
It is a blow for manager Graham Turner who is hoping that Ainsworth will be fit for the weekend's trip to Stockport County: "We've lost two players from the Aldershot game, Daniel O'Donnell looks likely that he has hernia problem and could be out for a number of weeks.
"Lionel has a slight groin problem which will keep him out of the Stoke match but we are keeping our fingers crossed for the Stockport game at the weekend.
"Daniel has been steady at the back for us but from one player's bad news comes another player's good news.
"Shane Cansdell-Sherriff gets the chance to come back into the side, he's been chomping at the bit and it's now down to him to show he's good enough to stay in there."
