Bradley expects tough test

Sophie Bradley has enjoyed a steady rise through the England ranks and last month she realised a dream. The 20-year-old defender came off the bench against Austria to make her senior team debut and Lincoln Ladies' new recruit is now hoping for further international recognition.

The England International considers her debut to be one of the proudest moments of her career so far.

"It was unbelievable, a really proud moment. I can't really describe it; I'm still in shock. Playing for your country is something you strive to do; it's what every player plays and trains for and ever since I was a little girl that's all I've ever wanted to do.

"To get the chance the chance to play for the senior side is fantastic and I'm glad my opportunity came about. Now I just want to keep performing to sustain my place in the squad."

Bradley does however expect a tough couple of games against the Swiss.

"I played against them as an U17 a few years ago and that was a tricky game and it will probably be the same story in this play-off.

"They have got a really good team and we're expecting a difficult game, but whoever we drew we knew it was going to be tough. It's all about performing over the next two games now and making sure we qualify. We need to play the football we know we can play and then I think we'll have every chance."

The young defender believes getting to Germany next year will be the ultimate experience.

"I couldn't even explain it. I was named in the England squad for the U20 World Cup a couple of years ago but I couldn't play because of injury, but the feeling when I got called up was amazing and I'd imagine the feeling of being in a senior World Cup would just be unbelievable. I can't really put it into words. It's easy to say, but we can't think that far ahead just yet. We have to make sure we qualify first."
