Shrewsbury Town physio Chris Skitt has been pleased to receive a new important piece of machinery to enhance the club's medical department - thanks to a generous donation from Shrewsbury Town's Official Supporters Club.
Town recently took delivery of a Game Ready machine which has already come in very useful.
Nicky Wroe was connected up to it on the team coach on the way home from the Bradford game on New Year's Eve after suffering a painful foot injury.
And the machine has also been used to help Shane Cansdell-Sherriff following his shoulder injury against Southend United last weekend. The specialist treating Shane has said 'in my opinion, the early use of the Game Ready has probably contributed significantly to his rapid recovery and avoidance of surgery.'
"This is a system that delivers freezing cold water along with air compression into an area of the body," said physio Skitt. "This reduces inflammation and speeds up the healing process.
"Because it's highly portable we can use it on the bus on the way back from away games.
"I am lucky to have such an item but I have no doubt it will become cost effective over a short space of time."
Simon Moore, chairman of the Official Supporters Club, said they were pleased to be able to present the club with a cheque for £5,000 which has been used to pay for the Game Ready machine.
"We hope this will be the first of many donations we make," said Simon. "It's thanks to all our members and the people who travel with us and attend our events. It's helped us make the money to allow us to make the hand over."
