Town v Rotherham United
Marcus Braddock previews the game
For our third league game at home this season, Town take on a Rotherham side who will no doubt be buoyant after a good start to the season. The Millers sit just behind us in 3rd position, after 3 wins and a draw so far, and are only behind us because of goal difference. Rotherham have been less fortunate than us in the cups, going out of the League Cup 4-1 away to Peterborough and squeezing past Lincoln in the JPT this week. Highlight of the season for the Millers would have to be the 6-4 home win against Cheltenham, where they fought back from being 3-1 down.
From a Shrewsbury point of view, we are unbeaten in the League, have 2 League one scalps to be proud of, and the only team to narrowly beat us was Premiership Stoke City. It's fair to say that things are going rather swimmingly, but this is one of those "6 pointer" games that we need to win. Our last "6 pointer" was against Bradford at the start of the season, and we won that 3-1.

Performer
Adam Le Fondre is the obvious danger posed by Rotherham. A more than adept player at this level, Adam has scored 36 goals in just 57 matches for the Millers. Le Fondre joined Rotherham at the start of last season from Rochdale, where he scored another 38 goals in 105 games after an initial loan period from Stockport where he scored 4 goals in 7. Stockport was where Le Fondre started his career as a trainee, scoring 20 goals in 72 games over 3 years. This season, Le Fondre has hit the ground running with 6 goals; he is capable of scoring spectacular goals but is clinical enough to put away any chance he gets.

Summary
The feel good factor is high at both clubs at the moment, and it could be an exciting game as 2 of the highest scoring teams in the division clash at the Greenhous Meadow. Rotherham are a real threat to our unbeaten record, they have quality all over the team and they know where the goal is. If they have a fault to pick on, it is a slight vulnerability when it comes to conceding goals. Against Cheltenham, they conceded 4 at home, and also conceded 4 against Peterborough. Last week, they beat Hereford, but left themselves a little open and with a better strike force, Hereford would have won the game.
So as ever, a difficult game to call but we have looked good against 3 sides in higher leagues and I am starting to feel a little bit of confidence in this team to get a result when it matters. This game does matter, especially given the context of our next few games against some of the best teams in the division, and a win at the start of a difficult sequence could well set the tone for the games to come.

ShrewsWeb spoke to Graham Turner to get his thought's ahead of the game
On Tuesdays game against League one Oldham...
A league one side that has got off to a good start, they passed the ball extremely well and for the first 20 minutes kept the ball very, very well. We couldn't get near them but at the same time they didn't get too close to our own goal. Gradually we got a foothold in the game and then I thought we had a good second half. A little bit like stoke in some respects, we came and finished the game very, very strongly. Maybe the levels of fitness are good enough to do that, so it was very encouraging again, to play against a side who are a league above us, a decent side at that.
The defence seem to be gelling well now, and got a third clean sheet on Tuesday, what do you do to keep that going?
Good defenders don't make many mistakes, and I keep preaching to the players, the defenders in particular, there are 2 important aspects: positions and decisions. If they get their positions right, they're halfway there, if they make good decisions during the course of the match then they're going to put in good performances.
On Rotherham and their notorious threat...
They are very lively up front, we've had our reports. The wide players, the two front players, they could be a handful for any defence at this level. Obviously, Le Fondre's record speaks for itself, it looked at one stage , as if he was going to be on the move before the transfer window closed, but he's still there, we know what we've got to face, the defenders have got to deal with him it's as simple as that. We've done ok defensively recently, our record of goals against is excellent and we have got to keep that going.
