Watford born right-back Ben Herd didn't have the best of starts with his home town club thanks to a few niggling injuries. He figure highly in Watford's reserve team but didn't really push into first team.
When Ray Lewington was relieved of the managerial hot seat at Watford he recommended Ben to ex-team mate Gary Peters. The Town manager invited Ben to join in with Town's training sessions at the end of last season and play in the reserves.
He impressed the Town manager enough to offer him a contract, and he took up the challenge of trying to break into the Town first team. Ben is up for the challenge and will be looking to stake his claim for the Town right-back spot.
