Marc was the featured player in the Rochdale programme and here are his Q&A's.

Q - You have to be pleased with your start to the season and that of the whole team. It's great to see a player (you) getting wide and taking the ball past defenders and causing the opposition difficulty week in week out. Are you encouraged by the Manager and other players to keep this as part of your game?

A - it's great to do and at the end of the day I love playing football, especially running at full-backs. To do that with the fans behind you gives you such belief. Every time I get the ball the Gaffer wants me to take players on and I can't ask anymore than that. The players around me are all technically very good and try and get the ball to me ask much as possible.

Q - The fans have been hearing that training and the group of lads at Shrewsbury is really enjoyable. Has it surprised you and what makes it different to your time at Bury?

A - The main difference is the results we've been getting, before each match we have that great belief and mindset that we can just win games. If it's a scrappy game, a bad game we don't care as long as we pick up the points. We would like to make it enjoyable for the fans and would like to play good football but the main thing at the moment is to pick up points and then I'm sure the performances will come.

Q - How high in the football league do you think you can progress?

A - Its important to me to get a lot of experience first. If I get my head right and I'm mentally strong then I think I can progress up to the Championship, and maybe even the Premiership. My main focus is to get Shrewsbury Town up the leagues.

Q - How does it feel when you trick your way past a player and he ends up on his arse?

A - To be honest it's one of the best feelings in the world. I love running at defenders and I love getting kicked as it shows me that I'm doing my job and the defenders are struggling.

Q - What do you feel is weakest part of your game that you hope to improve under GP?

A - My decision making is probably the weakest part of my game, sometimes instead of running with the ball I should lay it off and pass to a team-mate. I should also probably score more goals and win more headers.

Q - From what I read some Bury fans thought your move to Shrewsbury was a bit of a sideways step, do you see it as that or as a step up?

A - Personally I see it as a step up. When I first came to look I was shown the ground by Gary Peters and the set-up is amazing. On the pitch the performances are getting there and we are winning games and it is a step up as we are higher up in the league than Bury.

Q - Who is the best player you have played with and why?

A - There are a few that come to mind from my time at Burnley, Robbie Blake, David May and Luke Chadwick who all played at the highest level and are great players. Robbie Blake was technically excellent, David May was a top class defender who played in the Champions League and Luke Chadwick is an out and out winger who likes to run at players.

Q - Did Hursty sell the club to you?

A - He told me it was a good club to be at and that he loved every minute he was here. I came to look at the ground and it was fantastic, the training facilities are excellent and we get our lunch put on, what more can I ask for.

Q - Does the team know what you are about to do when it comes to you taking someone on or does it just seem a surprise for them

A - I think every time I get the ball and have the chance to go 1 v 1 with a player that I'm going to take them on and try and beat my man. It's important for to me to help the team out and create goals and it's fantastic that they encourage and support me to get at players.

Q - Do you go down easily or does it take one hard challenge to take you down.

A - I don't really go down easily and have never been that type of player. If I get a whack I will get back up even if I'm injured. I try to be tough as wingers are known as nancy boys and I don't want that label.

Q - How hard is it living away from home when you're so young?

A - I thought it would be harder, I do miss my family and it is nice to get home some times and have a quiet drink. Shrewsbury is a really nice town and I'm loving every minute of it and don't see any problem with being away.

Q - I believe you played on both right and left flanks during your time at Bury, which is your preference?

A - All last season I played on the right wing for Bury but I do prefer it on the left. Playing on the left is more natural to me as I can go either way, I prefer my step over with my right foot and when I cut back I can also use my right or left foot. Overall I do prefer it on the left wing and I also prefer to play upfront rather than the right wing.

Q - Which defender have you found the most difficult to play against?

A - I played against Wes Brown in a pre-season friendly against Man United when I was at Burnley and he was a very good defender who was hard to beat. I also played against Ryan Giggs when he played at left-back in a pre-season game and he was quite quick.

Q - You have been labelled "the Ronaldo of league 2"how does it make you feel?

A - I've heard this one and it's a great honour to be given that label. It gives me that extra confidence to do well and go onto beat full-backs because Ronaldo is one of the best players in the world and to be mentioned in the same light as him superb.

Q - What was the best trick you ever pulled off in a match?

I was on loan on at Kidderminster at the time and did the Ossie Ardiles flick over someone's head and then volleyed a cross across which we scored off. It featured on Soccer AM' Showboat feature after Ronaldinho which was quite surprising, hopefully I'll try to do it again this season.

Q - You are a skilful player, so who in your opinion who is the most skilful Maradona or Pele?

A - Maradona is the more skilful player but I think Pele was one of the best players in the world at the time.

Q - You are obvious a very skilful player and the crowd always get's behind you, was this similar at your old club?

A - Overall I think the fans are better here but overall the Bury fans were really good to me. They were up until I didn't sign my new contract as I wanted a new challenge to play at the highest level possible. I do think Shrewsbury Town can go onto much bigger and better things.

Q - After your arrival, Bury fans seemed unimpressed and claimed that you'd "moved for the money". Can you set the record straight once and for all?

A - I moved to Shrewsbury because I saw the set-up and loved every aspect of it. I had a few other clubs interested in me and I could have gone higher up the leagues but I felt Shrewsbury Town was the right club for me at this time of my career. I think it's the right club for me to get more experience with and last season they made the play-off final so what's not to love.

Q - Who do you aspire to be as good as?

I think everyone has their idols and even though he doesn't play in my position I think Steven Gerrard is the out and out professional. He drives his team forward and every game he gives 100% and I would love to be as good a player and as successful as him. I also take a lot of inspiration from Ryan Giggs as he's been a top of his game for so long now and he is the type of player any youngster should aspire to be.

Q - What do you think you will be doing in ten years time?

A - In 10-years time I'll hopefully still be playing football as I love the game. Hopefully I'll be playing at the highest level possible with Shrewsbury Town.
