Following Towns hard fought draw at home to Aldershot, in which midfield play was a decisive part of the game ShrewsWeb's Marcus Braddock spoke to midfielder Craig Disley to get his view of the game and beyond.
Craig, is 1-1 a fair reflection of the game?
Yes, a fair result in the end, I thought that Aldershot played very well in the first half. They made us look pretty ordinary to be honest. We changed the formation at half time and I think it worked a lot better for us. We passed it around a lot better and in the end, a draw was a fair result.
No problems adapting to the change in formation then?
Yes, we were out run in midfield in the first half, and we couldn't really get close to any one. We went with 3 in the middle in the second half and it worked a lot better. We got more involved in the game and it worked better for us. We had chances but we couldn't find that second goal to kill the game off.
What was your view of the sending off?
It's one of them you know, the guy has gone to clear the ball away and kicked Matty as he has gone into the challenge. You see them all the time, it's just unfortunate that their player made a lot of it.
Tuesday is an important night for you as I believe it is your birthday, planning a party in Stoke?
I hope so, it would be nice wouldn't it. I'm 29 on Tuesday unfortunately, but the game is fantastic for us. It's a local Derby and we can get a decent crowd up there andwe can go there and just enjoy it. We're underdogs so there is no pressure on us so who knows, we could spring an upset.
Do you find games like that a distraction at all?
No, definitely not. The Stoke game is miles out of our minds, the league is our bread and butter. We need to get the league results to achieve what we want to achieve this year.
And have we got a chance of an upset at the Britannia Stadium?
I don't know, you see upsets all of the time so if we go there and try to play a bit of football, and obviously cope with their threat from set pieces and long throws, who knows. But you know that obviously we are underdogs with nothing to lose, and we will see what happens.
